KATHLEEN KETOFSKY MSW, LCSW
Kathleen is a Licensed Clinical Social worker with 20 years of professional counseling experience. After 13 years working in an adolescent treatment program, she continues her work as a Student Assistance Counselor in a Middle and High School setting and has an active private practice in Belle Mead, NJ.
Her primary specialization is working with adolescents on issues such as depression, social-emotional problems, improving self-esteem, assertiveness training, anxiety reducing techniques, anger management, abuse, school conflicts and/or failure, substance abuse, divorce, and family conflicts.
Kathleen passionately believes that developing a strong connection and relationship between the client and therapist is essential to working together to resolve the issues that bring one to treatment. She views her clients as having a primary role in their treatment and encourages active participation in reaching their fullest emotional and social goals.
Kathleen has an energetic approach that is easily received by adolescents and parents alike. As a mother of two, she understands the daily stressors of parenting and provides parental guidance and coaching to effectively manage emotional and behavioral concerns. She uses techniques based in family systems theory, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused therapies to assist adolescents, adults, and families.
In addition to working with adolescents, Kathleen also sees adult individuals who are seeking assistance with life issues, depression, and anxiety. She has had extensive experience helping adults explore the many challenging and stressful issues of life by creating a vision and goals that lead to ultimate growth.
